As we wish "Happy Trails" to our winter visitors, we hope everyone has a safe journey and a wonderful summer! Naturally we're lining up dates for next season with SSB now. If you have an event planned this summer before October 15, 2018 please contact Larry Streicher at TEL 630-400-3629. Most of the group will be around the whole summer to cover your event.
The SCHEDULE link above is current 24/7 on where we'll be performing in the 2018-2019 season and beyond.
Of *note*...we've added 2 new members to the group who bring a wealth of experience with them and the audience response has been wonderful:
>Ken French, drummer, is a retired USAF Bandsman (like me) with experience playing a wide range of styles, to include The Falconaires Jazz Band of the USAF Academy, a very competitive position.
>Steve Dietrich, guitar & pedal steel guitar, has worked full time as a solo artist in road bands including cruise ships most of his life. He's a consummate picker!
Our upload on youtube, a sampler of songs done live: https://youtu.be/8wliMnolEcE

Saguaro Sunset Band is a 5-piece group that performs regularly here in the Valley Of The Sun in Phoenix, Arizona and surrounding areas since 2002. Our shows and dances have met with rave reviews from audiences at resorts, festivals, clubs, and private parties. Our 'Southwest Sound' is a combination of old and new Country music with a little Old Time Rock & Roll, and a few Standards. Songs that sing to folks here! Our extensive song list says a lot about who we are, but the final decision on what we play is the ear of the listener. Our recordings (above) are not studio enhanced and convey the actual sound of the group in live performance. We have honed our arrangements through rehearsal and performance to create a tight sound your folks will enjoy. Our specialty is the 55+ communities here in the Valley of the Sun, where the focus is on DANCE music. We'll get your toes tapping and your feet moving with line dances, waltzes, sock hop rock & roll, two-steps, a polka, and maybe even a Big Band number. The most frequent compliments we get from audiences? "Great band and a great mix"! So much for the 'sales pitch'...as I said...we stand by what we have done...if you like our audio samples...you'll like us.
I had the honor of serving with US Air Force Bands for 20+ years, performing in over 28 countries, and spent a year working on Princess Cruises ships as a musician afterwards. With that experience behind me, I take pride in offering a group of outstanding musicians and performers. I auditioned each and every one of them. We're a band of PLAYERS.
...and what you can expect at any performance is...quality.
But don't take my word for it?
Local references are available on request...or ask your friends!
